This a single track from the North Dakota Potholes album. Escape to the bird paradise of the prairie pothole region in North Dakota. Numerous prairie potholes, which are water-filled depressions left from the ice age, create North America’s most productive wetland habitat. Enjoy listening to these choruses of vibrant bird songs from prairie grassland, marsh, and lake habitats.

Lakeside Evening: 15:15 min. A single MP3 file, 21.8MB
Relax with a wonderful variety of birds along this secluded lakeshore during late afternoon. Yellow-headed Blackbirds call from the Cattails. American Avocets make shrill calls as they roam the shoreline. American Bittern, Song Sparrow, and Ring-necked Pheasant can be heard in the background. Killdeer, Canada Geese, Blue-winged Teal, Mallard, and Western Chorus Frogs are heard throughout. Listen for the heavy wing beats of a White Pelican as it ascends nearby. Franklin Gulls, common only to the Pothole region, are also heard.
